Birds along the Patuxent 8/29

Covered the Isaak Walton League section of the Patuxent River Park (near
Governor Bridge Rd in PG County) Sat 8/29 from 0630 - 1030.  Had trip list of
72 species including 16 warblers-

Black & White (3)
Prothonotary (2)
Worm-eating (1)
Parula (several)
Yellow (1)
Blk-throated Blue (2)
Chestnut-sided (1)
Prairie (3)
Ovenbird (2)
CONNECTICUT (1 imm.)
Com Yellowthroat (many)
Chat (1)
Hooded (4)
Wilson's (1)
Canada (5)
Redstart (several)

Connecticut was a lifer after birdwatching for 15 years on the east coast.
Other highlights included Yellow and Black-billed Cuckoos, Blue-headed Vireo
and Grasshopper Sparrow. Also saw lots of hummingbirds and 9 mammal species.

In the to pish or not-to-pish debate, pishing worked great this morning.
Everytime I heard a chickadee or titmouse, I pished.  That brought in those
birds and lots of others, esp gnatchatchers, vireos, warblers.
