One and even two Ruddy Shelducks have shown up now and then on Lake 
Elkhorn or the little pond near it over the past several years. Usually 
don't stay long. I assume they are escapes fom a collection, but I don't 
know. Over a decade ago I saw one along side I-83, Jones Falls 
Expressway, I called the Balto Zoo to see if they had an escape, but 
they said they knew nothing about it.
