Gunthers` Pond- Avocet Gone

Marcia Whitmyre & I checked Gunthers on 8/13 about 10 am & the Avocet
had departed, no sign of Red Knot as well.  Both Courthouse Point &
Gunthers were practically barren, likewise Bombay Hook & Little Creek.
Further south @ Kits` Hummock we finally saw some birds,  good numbers
of RUDDY TURNSTONES in nice plummage ( 200+ ), SANDERLINGS in various
states of partial breeding plummage ( 300+ ), and several WHITE RUMP
SANDPIPERS.
