Lily Pons update

Yesterday, I posted a few details about a trip (6/27/98) to Lily Pons Road.
(Yes, I now know the correct spelling of "Lily Pons.") After consulting the
yellow book, I wondered whether two little additions might be appropriate to
report. First, at Lilypons Water Garden, I noticed an adult tree swallow
feeding an immature who waited patiently on a power line. The yellow book
suggests that tree swallows do indeed breed in our area, but the abundance
chart left me wondering how common this might be. Second, I did notice a
bank swallow flying among the barn & tree swallows and purple martins. The
yellow book did not list bank swallows as breeding in Frederick County. In
late June, I couldn't help wondering what this bank swallow was up to.
Maybe someone from Frederick County could ease my curiosity.
Thanks!
