Unusual Ovenbird Sighting

I had the oddest experience yesterday (Sunday 6/21) - an
Ovenbird joined me for a ride in my car.  I had been out
running errands at various places in Cecil County, and was
almost home when I heard a scrambling sound and looked down
to see a small brown bird on the floor of the front
passenger area.  It then hopped up onto my gear shift lever,
and I got the closest look at an Ovenbird that I have ever
had.  Other than gaping, it looked unstressed and
uninjured.  When I got home, I pulled the car up next to the
woodlot and opened the doors.  The bird sat quietly for a
minute, looking around, and then flew out into the shrubs.
It flew quite strongly.

I think I must have picked this bird up while driving past
Elk Neck State Forest.  A small cluster of leaves broke off
a tree and hit the roof of the car, and out of the corner of
my eye I saw something brown - I thought it was a dead leaf
- come in the open window.  If that was indeed the bird, it
unfortunately endured about half an hour in the closed car
while I did some shopping before going home.  I'm surprised
it did not look more stressed.

I guess I have to start a new bird list - birds seen IN the
car.
