An adult Little Blue Heron was on a snag in the section of Black Hills Reservoir off Father Hurley Blvd. & Spinning Wheel at 5pm Friday evening, May 8. Ten minutes later, on the return leg of my walk, the heron was no longer in sight. The habitat is such that the heron could have remained in the area. This is the section where Red-headed Woodpeckers are seen and one was there on Wed. 5/6. For directions to this section of Black Hills, log onto the Mdosprey archives on the net by entering: "http://ari.net/mdosprey". Scroll down to the March entries. Open "Directions to Black Hill 'snags' Rog" and read the #2 set of directions given. Mary Ann Todd
