Ospreyites:

I did some quick birding, in between the rain showers, at a
couple of places in Cecil County on Sunday, 4/26.  The most
interesting birds, including several
county-firsts-of-the-year for me, were:

At Bethel WMA, aest of South Chesapeake City:
Black-crowned Night Heron (2, possibly 3 - there might have
been one skulking in the reeds)
Green Heron (1)
Bonaparte's Gulls (2)
Eastern Kingbird (1)
Bank Swallow
Barn Swallow
Tree Swallow (total swallows in the hundreds, maybe 60%
Tree, 25% Barn, 15% Bank)
Catbird (3)
Brown Thrasher (2)
Chimney Swift (25+)
Common Yellowthroat (20+)
Orchard Oriole (1 male, singing)
(Could not find Marsh Wren or Swamp Sparrow here, both have
bred in the past)

At Courthouse Point WMA, southwest of Chesapeake City:
Blue-winged Teal (3 pairs, have bred here in the past)
Northern Rough-winged Swallow
Barn Swallow
Tree Swallow (total swallows in the hundreds, about 33%
each)
Catbird (2)
Brown Thrasher (2)
Northern Parula (1)
Savannah Sparrow (1)
Lesser Yellowlegs and Killdeer were the only shorebirds
here, despite wide mud flats that look like good habitat.

At Elk Neck State Forest, south east of North East (couldn't
resist that one), the previous afternoon (Sat, 4/25):
Pine Warbler (2)
Ovenbird (1)
Cooper's Hawk (1)
