Steve, Tyler, Les...thanks for the ideas. Les, I'll be looking for your reports! <grin> Tyler...we did go to Pt. Lookout last summer, hoping to find the Herons around the boat dock. No such luck. Don't you find that the easiest birds for some people, just disappear for others. <more grins> Steve and Don, I guess you can tell we hardly ever bird in Baltimore. Unfortunately for us, since I think there is a lot of good birding to be had there. We scouted out the area way back when one winter, but were so put off by the difficulty of parking that we gave up. We tried again, this summer and Winter, without too much additional luck. However, we will definitely follow your directions for the Herons when time is ripe. Marsh--you have given us the excuse to take that long awaited trip to Smith. I've made a special note of the Eastern Shore sites for the Uppies, too. Somehow I thought that tracing Uppies would be realistic only during later Fall migration, but your note seems to imply otherwise, so we'll make appropriate plans. Thanks a million to all of you. Will keep you informed! Fran -------------------------------- Fran Saunders Maryland Ornithological Society State Web Site Director saunderf@ari.net http://www2.ari.net/saunderf/mos/mos.html
