I agree but again feel that no one should emphatically state that
'this bird cannot be a Common Gull' when they have not even seen any
documentation from the person(s) who first saw the bird in question.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and, yes, I most certainly agree
that everyones' life list is their own.
Cheers,

Kathy,
I'm sure you'll agree we all own our own life lists, and we each determine what
goes on them, and that we have the right to make these decisions regardless of
the state's decision. We also have the right to talk about these decisions on
the internet and at bird club meetings. I think that's the thing most people
found outrageous about the earlier message. I don't perceive that this casts
aspersions on anyone.
Good Birding and enjoying the debate,

The point of the message was that it is not up to one individual to
make a decision for everyone else; but, rather up to the Records
Committee to make a decision regarding the record for the state. Each
person has the right to make their own decision but in doing so should
not be casting aspersions on the integrity of others or the Records
Committee.
Cheers,
