Last week there was some discussion of Eared Grebe reports in Maryland/DC.
Several years ago, the MD/DC Records Committee changed the status of Eared
Grebes such that they are now only reviewable if found west of the Piedmont
(basically Washington County and westward).

In recent years, the species has become a "regular" visitor each winter to
the lower elevations of Maryland.
