Jack, thanks for taking the trouble to run this information down for
us. You might want to ask Rob Gibbs of the MNCP&PC about the
effectiveness of fence-type deer exclosures. Just mention the words
"Brookside Gardens" if you want to see a grown man cry!
Last I heard was that they had actually purchased a specially trained
Border Collie at Brookside to periodically round up the deer that had
foiled the exclosure and run them out of the formal gardens again.
The deer are now walking in through parking lot entrances,
side-by-side with entering cars.
I've known for a long time that squirrels were more intelligent than
I, but I think I might add deer to that list as well!
