If someone needs the figures on $$$$ birders give back to 
locales, the original USFWS survey is on the MOS State Site.  
However, I don't think that's quite what's meant about giving 
back.  Something a little more personal is what's called for 
when someone goes out of his or her own way to help you out.

Bob Mumford's dinner idea is a great one....where something more 
than a "thank you" is indicated.  And hey, you'' never know when 
you may pick up additional gold nuggets about the local birding 
environment.
