There is a mailing list like MDOsprey called carolinabirds that cover
all of North and South Carolina.

To subscribe, send message text "subscribe carolinabirds" (without the
quotes) to
<majordomo@acpub.duke.edu>.  Leave the subject line blank.  You will
receive
an automated confirmation, which includes important information.

That is straight from the reply I got when I subscribed. (I am
originally from North Carolina, thus my interest.)
