Howard,
Thanks for reminding me of this little gem practicaly in my own
backyard. I'll make a point of getting over there before the year
ends.
Have you ever walked the stream (is that the Northwest Branch
that runs through there?) between Randolph Road and the Trolley
Museum on Bonifant Road? You can leave your car on Old Randolph
Road, which cuts south from Randolph just east of Kemp Mill.
Randolph, which is slowly being reclaimed by weeds now, to the bridge
over the stream. Turn right (north) just before the bridge and walk
through the large field bordering Northwest Branch. This area was
alive with sparrows the last time I visited, about a month ago (alas,
no Fox Sparrow). A paved passageway passes under Randolph Road and
the trail appears to continue north along the stream toward the
Trolley Museum, which must be at least a couple of miles away.
Unfortunately, my time ran out at this point and I haven't had an
opportunity to get back------so, have you ever walked this part of
the stream? If so, let me know what it's like back in there!
Cheers,
Norm
