A lunchtime walk around Hains Point was quit productive. Highlights included
   Long-tailed Ducks (2 female, 1 male) on the Potomac side
   Bonaparte's Gulls in Washington Channel
   Bald Eagles (subadult) flying over the point itself
   Horned Grebe in the Potomac
   Pied-billed Grebe in Washington Channel by the Maine Ave docks
   Red-breasted Mergansers in the Potomac

Other birds:
   Several Ospreys
   Double-crested Cormorants
   Ring-billed, Herring, Greater Black-backed Gulls in low numbers
   Red-winged Blackbirds on the golf course
   Brown-headed Cowbirds also
