I've been pondering a replacement for my trusty Minolta X700 not only for birds but for my airshow work. I didn't realize there was any long lens capability at a reasonable price. Still wondering about speed though. Thanks very much for the information - I'll pursue the leads you provided and research further. fdp Hi Fred! By "still wondering about speed" do you mean shutter lag or are you wondering about maximum aperture capability at full zoom? Shutter lag hasn't been a problem with the Oly c2100 - it focuses really fast - I honestly haven't noticed shutter lag. Maximum aperture ... hasn't been a problem either. Did you check out my online gallery? If you look at those photos you can see the exif data, which will tell you what the aperture and shutter speeds were. Those bird photos were all taken in P mode, so the camera was making the decisions, not me. If there are any other questions I can answer for you, fire away. :-) Sarah Cabin John, MD BirdNerd3@aol.com www.pbase.com/sarahbee ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
