With only partial reports in (a lot of folks didn't make it to the tally), the Triadelphia Reservoir Count had an unofficial total of 70 species. We imagine this will likely climb to about 80 species once all reports have been completed. I had a fly-over Eurasian Collared-Dove at Columbia Park (just south of Burtonsville). I'm going to forward my description of what I saw to Bob Ringler for his opinion on whether I should delete it or not when I edit the CBC reports early next year. Otherwise, even the common species seemed to be present in only very small numbers--weather? WNV? Some combination of factors? It will be interesting to see how the remaining counts fare over the coming weeks.
