Spring Rd. impoundments were virtually devoid of life except for a lone Gr. Yellowlegs. The ponds off Dover Neck Rd. next to the Talbot Co. Dump held a flock of Dunlin, Lssr. Yellowlegs, and the common Gull species. I pulled off the road right under the Choptank bridge at the Tanyard marshes to scan a flock off Gulls resting in the river and was pleasantly surprised to find a Sedge Wren working the reeds and water bushes right next to the river on the south side of the pull-off. Mallards and a lone Harrier were the only other birds at Tanyard. I didn't find the Winter Wren I was looking for at Idlewild NWR but I did find both Kinglets, Blue-headed Vireo, and Palm Warbler (eastern). Hurlock Sewage Ponds held Spotted, Semipalmated, and Pectoral Sandpipers, Lesser Yellowlegs, Shovelers, Blue-winged Teal, Ruddy Ducks, Barn Swallow, Harrier, Greater and Lesser Scaup, and a young Moorhen. I spent 45 minutes watching Laughing Gulls at the Pig Farm, STRAINING MY EYES, trying to find white in the wing to no avail. Elliots Island held more Dunlin flocks, Gr. & Lsr. Yellowlegs, Long-billed Dowitcher, many Harriers and Savannah Sparrows. _________________________________________________________________ Enjoy MSN 8 patented spam control and more with MSN 8 Dial-up Internet Service.
