We watched the bird fly off before being seen properly and after that only heard it once more briefly. This morning the Red-breasted Nuthatch was not heard, but at least two Winter Wrens were heard and seen along the Circle Trail. I was joined briefly by another birder, John S. - (sorry, John, I forgot your last name), who also saw the Winter Wrens. Also seen, a Sharp-shinned Hawk flying low through the trees along the Circle Trail, lots of Golden-crowned Kinglets, Hermit Thrushes, one Am. Redstart, and one female Black-throated Blue. Again, lots of E. Towhees (they must have had a great breeding season), and the White-throated Sparrows have arrived en masse.
