I know that some references mention that the northern can sometimes be difficult to distinguish from the Louisiana because it can have the white eyestripe, etc. Could this characteristic be due to hybridization or just color morphs? The sources I have do not mention hybrids. The ranges of the two species do overlap, although their habitat requirements seem to differ. One likes running streams while the other prefers swamps. Just curious if they have ever been caught trying to make something like a "Brewster's Waterthrush" or if they totally leave each other alone because of the habitat thing.
