Mime-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Hi all -- I was wondering if anything unusual showed up on the CBCs done yesterday? We missed the tally rally for the Tridelphia Count (which had the wonderful Western Tanager last year) so don't know the final outcome, and also, the D/C. count usually turns up a goodie or two. (There was a Rufous hummer in Arlington, within the count circle, for goodie # 1). We did Tridelphia in drizzly conditions with rather mediocre results, but had one good bird, Long-eared Owl, for second time in 4 years. However, we are obviously loath to give the locale. We found some species to be unexpectedly low (or missing) -- e.g. NO Myrtle Warblers in an area usually reliable for them, no Hermit Thrushes and very few Bluebirds, House Finches, Kinglets and Towhees. I am sure the bad weather recently didn't help! Interestingly enough, still good numbers of Fox Sparrows.
