I've seen them at several = different times of day, but particularly in the late afternoon. I have = not found any large carcasses around, nor unusual numbers of small = carcasses. Certainly Turkey Vultures are abundant in the area, but I've = been living in this house for 7 years and have never seen a group of = Vultures so dedicated to the immediate neighborhood. The neighborhood consists of detached single-family houses on approx. = 1/4 acre plots. There are a lot of mature trees. There is a bike path = running through part of the neighborhood, along a small creek. Why would the Vultures suddenly be hanging around like that? What are = they looking for? Food only? A place to roost maybe? =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D June Tveekrem Columbia, Howard County, MD tweekiebird@toadmail.com =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D =========================================================================
