The days were completely different. Sunday there were thousands of starlings descending into the ivy to feed, together with hundreds of robins and dozens of Cedar Waxwings. Today there were a dozen or so starlings, fewer robins, and no waxwings. There were perhaps a half dozen bluebirds today. There is an abundance of food in the area, with at least seven kinds of fruit: wild grapes, cat briar, English ivy, poison ivy, rose hips, bittersweet and unidentified black berries. In addition, there are young crab apple trees full of fruit in the adjacent nursery, which were full of birds yesterday. The upshot: the bird could still be in the area. There is no reason to be right at Ross Body. A gentle request: when you know of a really rare bird, please get it up on MdOsprey promptly. Apparently there were many people who knew of this bird Saturday PM, but it did not appear on MdOsprey until after it had disappeared for the last time on Sunday.
