Lookout (yes), 11/21 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hello all, I went to Point Lookout this morning and arrived at sunrise a little before 7:00. There was considerable activity by 8:00 after the departure of an immature Cooper's (I think) Hawk . He was sitting in the last tree in the last cluster of trees and underbrush before the station when I got there. But no Harris' Sparrow until 9:30. As one faces south, in he was feeding on the right of the road and the path on the right just before the orange water pump, across from the first picnic tables on the left side of the road. I pulled into the first parking place there on the right and got great looks. He was very active. Two cars came by during the fifteen minutes, and in response he dashed back into the brush and out again after it passed. I took pictures until my batteries went dead which, oddly enough, gave me an opportunity to really look at the bird in the field. I was fascinated by the tiny gray spots in the crown. This was a life bird for me. Thanks to Patty for finding this one, and to all those who posted all the info.
