Among the numerous Yellowrumps, White-throats, Bluebirds, Ruby- and Golden-crowned Kinglets and Cedar Waxwings were 6 species of woodpecker, Winter Wren, Brown Creeper, Palm Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, Fox as well as Song and Swamp Sparrows, but the piece de resistance was a group of 5 EVENING GROSBEAKS--3 males & 2 females. They perched at the top of a sycamore directly across the canal from mile marker 20 for about 15 minutes, before taking off in the direction of the river. At Hughes Hollow toward noon we saw 2 immature and 1 adult RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS. Also Coots and Pied-billed Grebe and Rusty Blackbirds.
