There seem to be an abundance of titmice and chickadees around here, but only one out of the six had a nest. Last year all had been used sometime during the summer. Anyway, opened up a titmouse box and started to pull out what I thought was a mouse nest, when out flew --- a flying squirrel. A new mammal for the yardlist. Pushed the nest back in. It was different from a mouse nest, they usually mostly hair and fine fibers, this was shredded bark like a gray squirrel's nest, only finer. Hope it returns.
