I saw smaller gatherings in coastal Maryland. Otherwise the birding was pretty dull and routine. Lots of terns, but I couldn't pick out any unusual ones, not that that means there really weren't any. No Whimbrels seen at Assateague. Coincidentally, while zipping home on US 50, I noticed lots of shorebirds in the ponds east of Salisbury just mentioned by Marshall, but too late to stop easily. I decided not to bother with looping around to check it out, mainly because of a great dislike for birding along busy highways, and making left turns onto them as well. Obviously I better stop next time.
