Some counties have printed site guides which are available for around $10 each. If you prefer to go alone these booklets are invaluable for acquainting you with areas with which you might not be familiar. The guides direct you to sites & tell you which birds you might expect to see & in which season you might expect to see them. You may order site books thru the Maryland Ornithological Society (MOS) or contact individual county clubs. Have you considered joining a bird club? All MD bird clubs schedule trips to many places with which I'm sure you may not be familiar. You'll find all the info you need at The Baltimore Bird Club web page. Address: http://www.bcpl.net/~tross/baltbird.html Check under "Maryland and the Region" for links to the MOS & other club's web pages.
