Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I went out looking for sparrows at lunch today at Patterson Park in = Calvert County. I started out along the beach where there is a bit of = marsh looking for sharp-tailed or seaside sparrows. Nada. I did have a = couple of inquisitive Swamp and Song Sparrows and White-throated Sparrows = were singing in the background up the hill. Then, I drove to another area of the park to check for any late shorebirds.= Here's where the sparrows were all gathered. In addition to the previous = sparrows, there were Field, White-crowned (2 juveniles). There was one bird that I got brief (5 to 10 seconds) but fairly decent = looks at but failed to relocate after searching for about 30 minutes. It = had a black moustachial mark with white above it, mostly clear breast with = some streaks and a longish tail that appeared rounded in flight. Couldn't = make out the face pattern in the brambles or the white tipped outer tail = feathers but I can't figure out what else this bird could be other than a = juvenile Lark Sparrow. If anyone would care to try and relocate this bird, email me for directions= .
