He was busily hawking for insects and put on quite a show for all the folks that could make it here quickly. If he hangs around tomorrow I'll post word. It is an easy bird to see. I did a preview of Gwynn Acres this eve. We had a total of 5 species. Catbird, Carolina wren, robin, wood thrush and Barred Owl. For those that want to come on the walk Sat night- don't expect alot bird-wise, but it was a lovely cool walk with no bugs. We did see a raccoon peeking out from a cavity. Bonnie Ott Ellicott city p.s. last year I had two OSF that showed on 9/12 and 9/13. Anyone that wants to try for the OSF in the a.m. is welcome. Just drive in Manahan Drive (it's a dead end street) and park on the street anywhere after the second court on the left. From the road you can scan all the tips of the dead branches. The bird ranged fairly far up and down the left side of the street. Last year the two birds alternated from the right and left sides. It is possible to walk around most of the neighborhood behind the houses. Most of the people here are used to binocular toting folks. ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
