Then about 12:00 I saw a detachment of 4, from the River Trail. On the way home I decided to drove into Anacostia Park, to look for mushrooms or whatever, and there were 11 Glossies presumably the remaining 11 from the first flock of 15 feeding in a rain puddle just off the asphalt entrance road which leads to the soccer fields. They were with 4 Greater Yellowlegs. There was a single Glossy Ibis at KAG last summer, but I have never seen a flock in DC, or to my recollection anywhere on the Western Shore. About 45 species for the morning, including a singing male Orchard Oriole just in front of the KAG office.
